摘要: This study has been undertaken to investigate the efficiency of ceria, zirconia, and CexZr1−xO2 mixed oxides as catalysts for 1,2-dichloroethane destruction in dry air. Mixed exhibit promoted redox acidic properties, which result catalytically relevant oxidation this chlorinated compound. Considering all compositions it was observed that catalytic activity varies a function zirconia content, being Ce0.5Zr0.5O2 sample showed better performance. The notable improvement catalyst CeO2 can be achieved through structural doping with Zr ions. Likewise, present focused on elucidation pathway involved progressive hydrocarbon temperature by means FTIR. It is postulated at low temperatures proceeds dehydrochlorination into vinyl chloride presence acid sites. compound protonated OH surface species forming carbonium ions attacked nucleophilic oxygen from form alkoxide species. These intermediates readily decompose generate acetaldehyde, further oxidised acetates finally degraded COx.
