摘要: Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a progressive metabolic disorder that affects Aboriginal people disproportionately around the world. Evidence shows treatment strategies can effectively reduce complications related to disease; in contrast many develop these rapidly and at young age. We conducted qualitative research on barriers evidence-based self-management behaviours education from perspectives of living with type their health care providers Manitoulin Island Ontario, Canada. Applying concept structural violence, we analyzed social political arrangements put “in harm’s way” by interfering management. Lastly, provide recommendations for interventions.
