摘要: Protein cages are an interesting class of biomaterials with potential applications in bionanotechnology. Therefore, substantial effort is spent on the development capsule-forming designer polypeptides a tailor-made assembly profile. The expanded profile triblock copolypeptide consisting metal ion chelating hexahistidine-tag, stimulus-responsive elastin-like polypeptide block, and pH-responsive morphology-controlling viral capsid protein presented. self-assembly this multi-responsive protein-based block copolymer triggered by addition divalent ions. This process yields monodisperse nanocapsules 20 nm diameter composed 60 polypeptides. well-defined nanoparticles result emergent properties all blocks polypeptide. These results demonstrate feasibility hexahistidine-tags to function as supramolecular cross-linkers. Furthermore, their for ion-mediated encapsulation hexahistidine-tagged proteins shown.
