摘要: The aquatic environment is the habitat of many microorganisms, including Plesiomonasshigelloides and Aeromonas species which are pathogenic to human animals. In present investigation, we evaluated occurrence these pathogens from marine mammals beached or accidentally captured by fishing net in southeastern (RJ) southern (RS) coastal Brazilian regions. A total 198 swabs 27 specimens mammals, 11 different species, were collected DEENSP GEMARS-CECLIMAR/UFRGS Institutes sent LRNCEB/IOC/FIOCRUZ. samples enriched Alkaline Peptone Water (APW) added with 1% sodium chloride (NaCl), APW plus 3% NaCl incubated at 37oC for 18-24 hours. Following, streaked onto Pseudomonas-Aeromonas Selective Agar Base (GSP Agar) suspected colonies biochemically characterized. results revealed 114 strains, ten P.shigelloides. main isolated A.veronii biogroup veronii (19.3%), A. caviae (12.3%), hydrophila (9.6%) P.shigelloides (7%). both offshore mammals. These data point importance epidemiological surveillance microbiological monitoring reinforce need implement environmental protection programs, especially related endangered cetacean species.
