摘要: The purpose of this study was to observe the effectiveness lidocaine in suppressing cough which is a logical extension its established use bronchoscopy. Nebulized lidocaine, preceded by standard nebulized albuterol inhalation driven oxygen given suppress selected group patients with intractable severe enough disrupt daily life activities, especially sleep. Patients included those asthma, reactive airways disease, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). In these patients, very effective cough, thus buying time for more definitive therapies work. This observation merits further confirmation benefit patients.(Am J Emerg Med 2001;19:206-207.
