摘要: The primary objective of this multicenter, multinational, epidemiological study is the identification infectious agents, dietary factors, or other environmental exposures that are associated with increased risk autoimmunity and type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM). Factors affecting specific phenotypic manifestations such as early age onset rate progression protection from development T1DM will also be identified. Environmental Determinants Diabetes in Young (TEDDY) an observational cohort which newborns who younger than 4 months have high-risk human leukocyte antigen alleles general population first-degree relatives (FDRs) patients affected enrolled. Six clinical centers USA Europe screen 361 588 newborns, it anticipated 17 804 eligible for enrollment just over 7800 followed. Recruitment occur 5 yr, children being followed to 15 yr. Identification factors lead a better understanding disease pathogenesis result new strategies prevent, delay, reverse T1DM.
