A recent review of the national cancer center registry Surveillance Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) database revealed that in United States, 25% Acoustic Neuromas (AN) are managed with observation. Several articles have questioned aggressive treatment these slow growing tumors. Concern has been raised data from SEER might be biased towards as patients who chose observation less likely to seen at a center.
