摘要: Purpose To identify any change in optometric referral patterns for suspect glaucoma over a 5 year period. Method A restrospective analysis was carried out of referrals to hospital clinic from 1988 and 1993. Results There significant decrease the positive rate with time 56% 37% 1993 (p = 0.02). Intraocular pressures (IOPs) all patients prior at presentation were significantly higher (25.1 25.6 mmHg respectively) than (22.4 23.0 respectively, p < 0.0005). However, presenting IOPs eyes similar cohorts (27.5 vs 26.4 mmHg, 0.33). Prior referral, optometrists performed visual fields on 28% 48% 0.01), giving an estimate cup/disc ratio 15% 41% 0.0004). Conclusions The increased false appears be associated increasing use field analysers by willingness refer lower IOPs. Increased result waiting times assessment.
