The integration of China's port system into global container shipping

摘要: There are many controversial issues concerning the relationships between container shipping lines, international port operators and evolution of China's system. We first present factors linked with transformation Pacific Rim transport environment resulting from increase trade. This is followed by an analysis argue that China characterized a ‘divided’ maritime system composed three regions. The Chinese marked four interrelated transformations: privatization, expansion, modification transactional networks emergence new business environment. paper concludes on need to upgrade development policies.
