摘要: Tanneries are one of the most important industries world, but discharge toxic hexavalent chromium through their waste water into environment beyond permissible limit. Such may cause significant damage to agricultural lands and receiving bodies due its higher toxicity high COD BOD values thus is a matter global concern. To reduce impact discharged on all living beings environment, several conventional physico-chemical treatment methods developed remediate metal polluted sites. However, these costly use non-regenerable materials, operating cost generate sludge. Microbial bioremediation relatively cheaper eco-friendly technique for removal heavy metals chloroorganics from tannery has wider implications. Also, there chance recover economically valuable reuse. Among various microbes, bacteria have proven be very effective in removing Cr (VI) pentachlorophenol water. The treated can also used non-potable purposes including agriculture during leather tanning. It will ultimately minimize scarcity problem increase productivity.
