摘要: Abstract 1. 1) Scrapings from 362 Solomon Islanders suffering ringworms were sent for laboratory investigation. Direct examination of 297 samples was carried out and fungal hyphae spores observed in 85 per cent. 2. 2) All cultured dermatophytes isolated 306 (85 cent.). 3. 3) The following dermatophyte species identified: T. concentricum 72 cent.; rubrum 25 tonsurans 1 M. gypseum 0.6 Double infections found four subjects. In two, associated with , also . 4. 4) predominated all age-groups but more frequently adults than children adolescents. More male female subjects infected, the distribution not affected by sex host. 5. 5) geographical is discussed, absence mentagrophytes collection noted.
