摘要: Many toxic secondary metabolites used for defense are also to the producing organism. One important way circumvent toxicity is store toxin as an inactive precursor. Several sulfated diesters of diarrhetic shellfish poisoning (DSP) okadaic acid have been reported from cultures various dinoflagellate species belonging genus Prorocentrum. It has proposed that these a means storage within cell, and putative enzyme mediated two-step hydrolysis such DTX-4 DTX-5 initially leads formation diol esters ultimately release free acid. However, only one ester no DTX-1, closely related DSP toxin, isolated leading some speculate this not stored diester processed by other means. components in organic extracts two large scale Prorocentrum lima laboratory investigated.
