摘要: Abstract The heterogeneous nucleation of hen-egg-white lysozyme (HEWL) crystals has been investigated using a double-(thermal)-pulse technique, thus detaching from the growth stage. n ( t ) dependencies nucleus number, , vs. time, were plotted for surfaces rendered hydrophobic (by means hexamethyl-disilazane) and bare glass surfaces. Preferred crystallite orientation supplied additional information. discussion is based on classical Stranski–Kaischew theory crystal nucleation. With purposely developed new technique adhesion energies have measured HEWL crystals, grown different supports.
