摘要: The determination of the bone strengths wild animals has many potential advantages, which include ability to estimate age animals; monitor bones as influenced by contaminants, particularly lead; provide appropriate data for design capture, handling, and holding equipment minimize possibility fracture in captured measure effects nutrition on strength. objectives this study were mechanical properties limb river otters consider sex properties. Three-point bending shear tests conducted radius, ulna, tibia, fibula. three-point first loaded within their elastic limit. These used evaluate modulii elasticity bones. indicated that did not have significant values. four different tested had approximately same modulus elasticity, with an average value 14. 1 gigapascal (GPa). The failure order determine maximum breaking force strength radius tended increase there was a (P < .001) effect. ulna males significantly .002) higher than females. A similar trend observed fibula .03). increased .005) There also effect radius; values females higher. no or found ulnae, fibulae.
