摘要: Epoxy–clay nanocomposites derived from renewable soybean oils and organo modified montmorillonite clay were prepared. Improved efficiency performance achieved through application of new, low viscosity, glycidyl esters epoxidized fatty acids (EGS) as the epoxy monomer 4-methyl-1,2-cyclohexanedicarboxylic anhydride comonomer. Tensile testing showed that 1 wt% improved nanocomposite strength modulus by 22% 13%, respectively, compared to neat polymer. could be increased up 34% without any sacrifice strength. Three types dispersion techniques, mechanical stirring, high speed shearing, ultrasonication, carried out disperse directly into or portion thermoset system need additional solvent. Dispersion particles was assessed means solubility parameters optical scanning electron microscopies, quality further confirmed small angle X-ray scattering transmission microscopy. Sonication needed optimize exfoliation higher thermal nanocomposites. The nanocomposites’ morphologies a mix intercalated exfoliated structures, dependent on technique. optimum tensile glass transition temperatures function concentration morphology.
