摘要: Idiopathic scoliosis (IS) refers to a 3D rotation of the spine that occurs in absence underlying vertebral anomalies or obvious physiological defects. Despite affecting approximately 4% population, etiology and pathogenesis IS remain poorly understood, largely due genetic heterogeneity historical lack appropriate developmental models. Recently, zebrafish has emerged as powerful system for studying IS, owing well-developed resources natural susceptibility spinal curvatures. Here, we summarize utility biological model examine current faithful mutant models, focus on their recent advances towards understanding core mechanisms governing both normal morphogenesis IS-like deformities.
