摘要: PURPOSE OF REVIEW To report on the recent advances lipids, diabetes, and body fat in HIV-infected patients from perspective of aging. RECENT FINDINGS HIV infection causes microbial translocation inflammation that contribute to hypertriglyceridemia insulin resistance, quantitative qualitative HDL-cholesterol changes further contributes atherosclerosis. These are incompletely reversed by antiretroviral therapy. Protease inhibitors have worse lipid profile among currently used drugs. Etravirine, maraviroc, raltegravir a impact better than other classes. The importance genetic background dyslipidemia is becoming increasingly known. Lipodystrophy associated with inflammation, dyslipidemia, hypertension, functional decline. Lipohypertrophy more common influenced current obesity epidemics general population. SUMMARY Inflammation, cholesterol abnormalities, lipodystrophy caused both therapy may pose aging at higher risk comorbidities frailty despite sustained viral suppression. Healthier lifestyles strategies specifically addressed diminish these pathophysiologic abnormalities will be needed for preserving overall health persons.
