摘要: Objective: To determine whether completing a year of the Rural Clinical School Western Australia (RCSWA) program is associated with entering rural medical workforce. Design and setting: Cohort study graduates from University who completed Year 5 school between 2002 2009, comparing work location (identified Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency database in March‐June 2013) those participated RCSWA (RCSWA graduates) did not (controls). Main outcome measure: or urban graduates. Results: Of 1116 eligible graduates, 1017 (91.1%) could be traced were included study. 258 42 (16.3%) working rurally compared 36 759 controls (4.7%). 195 backgrounds, 29 (14.9%) 26 691 urbanbackground (3.8%). 63 rural-background 13 (20.6%) rurally, 10 68 (14.7%). Using logistic regression, participation had strong relationship (rural-background graduates: odds ratio [OR], 7.5; 95% CI, 3.5‐15.8; urban-background OR, 5.1; 2.9‐9.1). background without (OR, 4.2; 1.8‐9.2) older age (age 2012, 30‐39 years: 2.2; 1.3‐3.7 v ! 40 6.6; 2.8‐15.0) also significant factors for rurally. Conclusions: Participation strongly greater likelihood Graduates backgrounds much more likely to areas than not. These data substantiate as an effective workforce strategy.
