Prediction of Amplitude of Solar Cycle 24 Based on Polar Magnetic Field of the Sun at Cycle Minimum

摘要: We have quantitatively investigated the correlation between relative sunspot number and magnitude of Sun’s polar magnetic field in solar cycles 21–23 from May 1976 to November 2009. Sunspot is anti-correlation with average (r = -0.62, P < 0.001). Maximal positive parameters was calculated when time-shifted forward on about 5.2 years 0.84, Magnitude Sun minimum activity 23 24 used as precursor forecast maximal amplitude cycle 24.
