摘要: Our previous study aimed to examine the effect of TJ-100, a widely used herbal medicine, on intestinal function following pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) in multicenter, randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled manner (JAPAN-PD study). This concomitant investigated TJ-100 serum cytokine levels patients who underwent PD. Due fact that several clinical variables can affect absolute values baseline levels, ratios postoperative day (POD)3 those POD1 were also for analysis. The present enrolled 180/224 randomized patients, whom 91 received and 89 placebo. As main findings analysis, Wilcoxon signed-rank test revealed no significant difference cytokines between groups; however, group without severe inflammatory complications exhibited significantly higher interleukin (IL)-4 (n=123), IL-9 (n=72), IL-10 (n=97), PDGF-BB (n=143) tumor necrosis factor-α (n=135), compared with Placebo Group (P<0.05). According results study, has an change from POD3 However, role different transition pattern recovery PD be by further mechanical studies focusing these extracted (ClinicalTrials.gov; no. NCT01607307; May 30, 2012).
