摘要: Abstract Aim To examine existing published literature regarding nurses and antimicrobial stewardship, their potential role contribution, to identify what is known, evaluate methodologies used in research, review integrate findings inform practice future priorities for research. Design Integrative review. Methodology The approach this was informed by Whittemore Knafl's integrative methodology. Electronic databases were searched papers since the start of database November 2019, with abstracts available, related humans English. Papers included regardless setting (acute, aged, primary care) if they research based, as participants reported specifically on results from or that had implications nursing practice. Excluded conference abstracts, focussed solely nurse prescriber, practitioner, manager roles. Results Fifty-two Identified themes were: i) knowledge, learning needs education; ii) perceptions motivations involvement; iii) brokerage influence information flow patients; iv) workflow, workload workarounds; v) leadership. Methodological quality varied, limiting transferability applicability some studies. Conclusion Formal inclusion stewardship activities has been associated improved confidence, cases clinical outcomes patients. reinforces values a motivator actions, reveals complex yet significant prescribing.
