摘要: The Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics (SIB), the European (EBI), and Protein Information Resource (PIR) form Universal (UniProt) consortium. Its main goal is to provide scientific community with a central resource for protein sequences functional information. UniProt consortium maintains KnowledgeBase (UniProtKB) several supplementary databases including Reference Clusters (UniRef) Archive (UniParc). (1) UniProtKB comprehensive sequence knowledgebase that consists two sections: UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot, which contains manually annotated entries, UniProtKB/TrEMBL, computer-annotated entries. UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot entries contain information curated by biologists users cross-links about 100 external access additional or tools. (2) UniRef (UniRef100, UniRef90, UniRef50) define clusters share 100, 90, 50% identity. (3) UniParc database stores maps all publicly available data, obsolete data excluded from UniProtKB. can be accessed online (http://www.uniprot.org/) downloaded in formats (ftp://ftp.uniprot.org/pub). New releases are published every 2 weeks. purpose this chapter present guided tour entry, paying particular attention specificities plant annotation. We will also some tools linked each entry.
