摘要: Interferon-γ inhibits experimental renal fibrosis. Background Recent evidence has implicated myofibroblasts as a cell type responsible for the laying down of extracellular matrix components during fibrosis in number organs. In this study, we examined capacity interferon-γ (IFN-γ) to inhibit activation fibroblasts myofibroblastic phenotype and hence reduce extent scarring rat subtotal nephrectomy (SNx) model using novel method intrarenal delivery. Methods Rats were divided into four groups: sham, SNx (group 1), + drug vehicle 2) IFN-γ (400 units/day; group 3) 30 days. sacrificed on days 15, 30, 45, 90 following SNx. Results Clinical data showed marked reduction proteinuria treated with (161 vs. 280 mg/24 hr by day P Conclusions We conclude that IFN-γ, administered at dose 400 units/day, strong inhibitory effect possible result action, is reduced function preserved model. The renoprotective lasted only its administration subsided when discontinued.
