摘要: Long-term consumption of red wine (RW) apparently confers some protection against cardiovascular diseases due to antiatherosclerotic properties polyphenols and ethanol (EtOH). There is evidence indicating that they do so by regulating angiogenesis, but the mechanism modulator factors involved are largely unknown. The aim this study was evaluate effects chronic ingestion RW in vascular structure pattern expression growth rat corpus cavernosum. Male Wistar rats aged 6 mo were treated with or an equivalent EtOH solution, as only liquid source for mo. Expression endothelial factor (VEGF), angiopoietin 1 2, their receptors (VEGFR1, VEGFR2, Tie2) cavernous tissue assayed immunofluorescence Western blotting. A reduction VEGF VEGFR2 expression, respectively, smooth muscle cells observed RW-treated animals, which balanced increase angiopoietins/Tie2 expression. In rats, a decrease Tie2 observed. These results, taken together, suggest antioxidants present activate selected mechanisms maintenance vascularization. However, functional studies will be necessary elucidate if benefit prevention deleterious events associated ED.
