摘要: Abstract Conventional polyurethane chemistry based on polyol and isocyanate is widely used for many applications ranging from plastics to coatings, constructions, pharmaceuticals, foods, etc. The growing concern over depletion of petrochemical materials their rising prices has led search environment friendly renewable materials. Cardanol derived cashew nut shell liquid one such material which reactive phenolic group aliphatic double bond that could be tailor-made produce novel functional polymer coating applications. This previously been preparation phenolics, epoxy resins phenalkamine hardners. Diglycidyl ether cardanol commercially available, as resin or modifier in formulations. In the present work, this was modified by simple step ring opening reaction polyols with different number functionalities. various prepared were cured polyisocyanate cross-linkers applied metallic substrates. coatings evaluated physical, mechanical, chemical thermal properties. study conducted showed sole binder formulation overall excellent
