摘要: The hard turning process has been attracting interest in different industrial sectors for finishing operations of materials. In this paper, the effects cutting speed, feed rate, and depth cut on surface roughness, force, specific power were experimentally investigated. An experimental investigation was carried out using ceramic tools, composed approximately with (70 %) Al2O3 (30 TiC, finish cold work tool steel AISI D3 heat-treated to a hardness 60 HRC. Based 33 full factorial designs, total 27 tests out. range each parameter is set at three levels, namely, low, medium, high. Analysis variance used check validity model. Experimental observations show that higher forces are required machining harder material. This force gets affected mostly by rate followed cut. Feed most influencing factor roughness. become factors power; especially case workpiece. Optimum conditions determined response methodology (RSM) desirability function approach. It found that, use lower value, limiting 0.12 0.13 mm/rev, while hardened steel, respectively, ensures minimum better Higher values necessary minimize force.
