摘要: Pathogens are exposed to different temperatures during an infection cycle and must regulate gene expression accordingly. However, the extent which virulent bacteria alter in response encountered host is unknown. Group A Streptococcus (GAS) a human-specific pathogen that responsible for illnesses ranging from superficial skin infections pharyngitis severe invasive such as necrotizing fasciitis streptococcal toxic shock syndrome. GAS survives multiplies at human infection. DNA microarray analysis was used investigate influence of temperature on global serotype M1 strain grown exponential phase 29°C 37°C. Approximately 9% genes were differentially expressed by least 1.5-fold relative 37°C, including encoding transporter proteins, proteins involved iron homeostasis, transcriptional regulators, phage-associated with no known homologue. Relatively few virulence this threshold. transcription 28 predicted secretion signal sequences altered, indicating growth substantially influences extracellular proteome. TaqMan real-time reverse transcription–PCR assays confirmed data. We also discovered hemolysins, inferred roles regulation, transport, influenced 40°C. Thus, profoundly alters temperature. The data delineate spectrum temperature-regulated important provide many unforeseen lines pathogenesis investigation.
