Winding of High Performance Thermoplastic PPESK Composites Using on-Line Solution Impregnation and In Situ Consolidation

摘要: A novel filament winding process technology has been realized which allows to combine on-line solution impregnation with in-situ consolidation for a kind of high performance thermoplastic, poly (phthalazinone ether sulfone ketone) (PPESK). This solved the common problem impregnating large number slender filaments highly viscous polymer melt usually existed in thermoplastic manufacturing. During process, high-quality carbon prepreg tapes were firstly obtained by using method, and then an arc electric heater was utilized ensure adaptable preheating processing temperature. With help heat tensile force, intimate interlaminar contact achieved.
