摘要: Abstract Wave attenuation is often measured using spectral techniques such as the ratio method and frequency shift method, comparing content of pairs waveforms along ray path. The recent introduction novel highly-localized time–frequency transforms leads to high-resolution but discontinuous spectra. It prevents use these with conventional measurement methods. We show how three transforms, namely basis pursuit, synchrosqueezing wavelet transform, complete ensemble empirical mode decomposition, can still be used estimate peak method. Assuming a Ricker source wavelet, decrease in wave spectrum it propagates given medium attenuation. When applied synthetic benchmarking signal corrupted by Gaussian white noise, different degrees performance robustness for signal-to-noise ratios. developed methodology suitable geophysical investigations, may also find application other fields biomedicine, acoustics engineering.
