摘要: Immunodepression, whether due to HIV infection or organ transplantation, has increased human vulnerability fungal infections. These conditions have created an optimal environment for the emergence of opportunistic infections, which is concomitant increase in antifungal resistance. The use conventional drugs as azoles and polyenes can lead clinical failure, particularly immunocompromised individuals. Difficulties related treating infections combined with time required develop new drugs, require urgent consideration other therapeutic alternatives. Drug repurposing one most promising rapid solutions that scientific medical community turn to, low costs safety advantages. To treat life-threatening resistant drug led well-known potential molecules a last-line therapy. aim this review provide summary current compounds their main resistance mechanisms, following by overview activity non-traditional antimicrobial drugs. We eventual mechanisms action synergistic combinations improve treatments. Finally, we discuss emerging multidrug (MDR) fungus, including Candida auris, Aspergillus Cryptococcus species.
