Enhancing video streaming in 802.11 Wireless Mesh Networks using two-layer mechanism solution

摘要: Multihop Wireless Mesh Networks have emerged as the next generation in wireless network technology. This is due to advantages provided by mesh WMNs provides ease of installation, cost effective deployments, high level scalability, wide coverage area and capacity, flexibility self-configuration capabilities. However, despite these advantages, many research challenges still remain WMNs. One such challenge support real time applications video streaming. paper proposes a two-layer mechanism for transportation real-time video. In this mechanism, rate adaptation implemented data link layer channel error control, stability reliability. addition, routing protocol optimized congestion control optimal route selection using information from quality metric layer. Simulation results show that proposed improves performance terms throughput, delay jitter multihop networks when UDP used transport protocol.
