摘要: Conservation successes can and do happen, however, the process by which society achieves them remains unclear. Using a novel culturomics approach, we analyse word usage within digitized texts to assess chronological order in scientists, public, policymakers engage conservation for three prominent issues: acid rain North America, global DDT contamination, overexploitation of African elephants ivory. Variation magnitude sector responses among issues emphasizes that there are multiple pathways success science is just one component. Our study highlights while scientists initiate process, policy change does not occur absence public interest. We suggest fate action solely determined scientific soundness plan, but rather requires engagement makers alike.
