摘要: A 2 X factorial experiment was conducted using growing lambs to compare single-level vs double-decked pens and high (.32 m2/lamb) low (.48 densities. Three replicates of each treatment combination were involved 30 lambs/pen. In the pens, an upper deck located over rear section lower level provided one-third total floor area. Feed water on only could move freely between levels by means a slatted ramp. All floors expanded metal. Use various areas determined during 24-h observation videotape recording daylight hours. Fleece contamination visual standard wool testing procedures. Gain 8-wk period replicate. The density resulted in 1.5 kg/lamb (10%) less gain (P than .01) and, case different patterns space utilization compared with treatment. Lambs able more successfully from resting feeding area afternoon .01). system did not significantly affect weight gain, but dirtier fleeces .01).(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)
