摘要: A primary obstacle to early diagnosis and treatment of hepatic encephalopathy (HE) is the lack a well-validated, standardized assessment method. The purpose this study was present preliminary validity data on new method grading HE, Hepatic Encephalopathy Scoring Algorithm (HESA), which combines clinical impressions with neuropsychological performances characterize HE. Participants were 49 inpatients admitted for complications end stage liver disease. Each participant's level HE graded using HESA West Haven Criteria (WHC) by independent raters blinded each other's rating. moderately strong association found between two methods (r = 0.60), individual indicators good discriminators among grades. results also suggest may be more sensitive mental status impairment in middle grades than WHC. These findings holds promise as multi-method approach all levels
