摘要: The Atlas cup (1) is a press-fit acetabular component (fig. 1). It consists of hemispherical shell made titanium alloy (TiA16V4) with split in the lower part to provide elasticity. very thin (2.5mm), so as allow maximal thickness polyethylene (PE) be inserted. first cups this pattern, used between July 1987 and December 1989, were grit-blasted did not have hydroxyapatite (HA) coating. Since then, an HA-coated pattern has been used. In 1995, we performed comparative study (2) porous versus found superior. present reflects follow-up period more than ten years that elapsed by now. investigation described herein was prospective consecutive series 151 HAcoated used, at primary arthroplasty, 8 January 1990, 27 September 1991.
