摘要: This work aimed at evaluating the antifungal susceptibility and production of virulence factors by Candida spp. isolated from sirenians in Brazil. The isolates (n = 105) were recovered natural cavities Amazonian West Indian manatees tested for to amphotericin B, itraconazole, fluconazole phospholipases, proteases, biofilm. minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) B ranged 0.03 1 µg/mL, no resistant detected. Itraconazole MICs 16 µg/mL 0.125 64 µg/mL, respectively, 35.2% (37/105) least one these azole drugs. Concerning factors, phospholipase activity was observed 67.6% (71/105) isolates, while protease biofilm detected 50.5% (53/105) 32.4% (34/105) respectively. Since are colonized virulent strains spp., animals can act as sources resistance genes environment, conspecifics other animal species, demonstrating potential environmental impacts associated with their release back into habitat.
