SOME RESULTS OF THE 1991 AND 1999 OTTER (Lutra lutra) SURVEYS IN THE RIVER ISE CATCHMENT, LOWER-SAXONY, GERMANY

摘要: As part of a river revitalisation project aiming at the re-connection two otter occurrences in north-central Germany surveys have been carried out to document distribution this region 1991 and 1999. This paper contains some results referring 226 identical survey sites investigated both surveys. Within eight years percentage positive increased by nearly five times from 2.2% 10.2% number 10x10km squares UTM (Universal Transversal Mercator System) grid more than three 4 14 32. 99.1% were located running waters 89.7% connected with bridges. Of 23 signs otters found second 65.2% under Nearly fourths width 5m less. However, there seems be tendency for higher portion 6-10m all as well
