摘要: Current preoperative diagnostic procedures for thyroid nodules rely mainly on the cytological interpretation of fine-needle aspirates (FNAs). DNA microarray analysis has been shown to reliably distinguish benign and malignant in surgically resected specimens, but its potential FNA not examined. In present study, expression profiles 50 lesions papillary carcinoma tissue samples were compared, generating a list 25 differentially expressed genes from this training set. A test set 22 specimens was evaluated by unsupervised hierarchical cluster using gene list, results compared cytology. found fall into three clusters: (n = 10), 7), indeterminate 5). The groups showed complete concordance with final histological diagnosis except one histologically lesion, which rediagnosed as follicular variant review. Paired between matched tissues illustrated adequate sampling FNA. These illustrate that is feasible improve accuracy categorizing beyond routine evaluation.
