Cerebral Infarction as the First Presentation of Tuberculosis in an Infant: A Case Report

摘要: The case of a child admitted to hospital with acute onset hemiparesis and seizure is presented. Extensive evaluation an ischemic event in the form brain infarct found on magnetic resonance imaging was inconclusive. Two months later, patient referred severe hydrocephalus, which managed ventriculoperitoneal shunting presence normal ventricular cerebrospinal fluid. shunt complicated by distal end infection. During insertion second shunt, after 3 antibiotic therapy, peritoneal thickening found. Peritoneal biopsy showed evidence granulomatous reaction. This finding, along positive polymerase chain reaction fluid, confirmed tuberculosis. recovered from most his symptoms antituberculous new inserted. very peculiar presentation tuberculosis that began cerebral infarction due vasculopathy hydrocephalus without any constitutional symptoms, later pathology.
