Relationship of prediagnostic serum levels of dehydroepiandrosterone and dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate to the risk of developing premenopausal breast cancer.

摘要: Dehydroepiandrosterone and dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate are steroids which may be associated with the development of breast cancer. To examine association between serum levels risk developing premenopausal cancer, we measured hormone in 15 women who donated blood to a community-based bank 1974 subsequently developed cancer 29 matched controls from same group volunteers. The mean level among cases was 10% lower than controls. for highest tertile compared lowest 0.40 suggestion dose-response trend increasing levels. No consistent evident. In contrast postmenopausal protective effect against is suggested, but because small sample size, results this study need replicated by others.
