摘要: Rotational excitation and momentum transfer cross sections for low-energy electrons in hydrogen nitrogen are obtained from a comparison of theoretical experimental values the mobility diffusion coefficient. The transport coefficients were by calculating accurate electron energy distribution functions using an assumed set elastic inelastic sections. discrete nature loss occurring rotational or vibrational collision was included theory, as collisions second kind with thermally excited molecules. resulting drift velocity characteristic $\frac{D}{\ensuremath{\mu}}$ compared data adjustments made until good agreement obtained. found this manner agree well several recent analyses valid restricted ranges. final about twice computed theory Gerjuoy Stein latest available value molecular electric quadrupole moments. In hydrogen, analysis has been extended to energies which is important.
