The current status of beta blockers' use in the management of hypertension.

摘要: The invention of beta ( β )-blockers culminated in a new era the treatment cardiovascular diseases (CD), and changed course pharmacology research for years to come. Since introduction propranolol into clinical practice 1964, -blockers enjoyed special place clinicians’ armamentarium against CDs, especially patients with ischemic heart diseases, are still one most extensively used therapeutic drugs both cardiac non-cardiac ailments. Current uses CDs include hypertension, arrhythmias, failure. Other substantial glaucoma, migraine, situational anxiety, benign essential tremors, symptoms thyrotoxicosis. This review covers some evolutionary changes -blockers, rationale their use, recent controversies surrounding use advantages newer additions group.
