摘要: Abstract. The occurrence of sporadic E (Es) layers has been a hot scientific topic for long time. GNSS (global navigation satellite system)-based radio occultation (RO) proven to be powerful technique detecting the global s layers. In this paper, we focus on some cases complex Es based RO data from multiple missions processed in UCAR/CDAAC (University Corporation Atmospheric Research (UCAR) Constellation Observing System Meteorology, Ionosphere, and Climate (COSMIC) Data Analysis Archive Center (CDAAC)). We first show examples occurred one event. Based evaluations between colocated simultaneous events lidar observations, it could concluded that these do manifest layer structures. then case broad region during certain time interval. result is validated by independent ionosondes observations. It possible explain structures using popular wind shear theory. map routinely near future, given more will available. Further statistical studies enhance our understanding mechanism. should benefit both Es-based long-distance communication accurate neutral retrievals.
