摘要: There are no readily applicable methods to routinely assess thrombosis risk and treatment response in thrombocytosis. Reticulated platelets (RP) define the most recently released circulation, RP% has been shown estimate platelet turnover thrombocytopenic states. We examined whether increased RP values were associated with thrombotic complications Platelet count, RP%, absolute count measured at presentation 83 patients chronic or transient thrombocytosis, 46 deep vein (DVT) arterial (ART) normal counts, healthy controls counts. Chronic thrombocytosis presenting (n = 14) had significantly higher (14.7% +/- 10. 1%, mean SD) than asymptomatic 23, 3.4% 1.8%), (3.4% 1.3%), DVT 21, 3.8% 2.1%), ART 25, 4.5% 4.1%, P .49). The counts remained when further subdivided into primary myeloproliferative disorders versus secondary Similarly elevated percentages also noted 6, 11.5% 4.4% 90 x 10(9)/L, respectively) compared 40, 2.7% 35 16 all control groups (P < .05 for comparisons). In addition, 7 of 8 who studied before developing symptoms only 1 63 asymptomatic. Follow-up studies seven showed that successful aspirin symptomatic recurrent reduced from 17.1% 10.9% therapy 4.8% 2.0% after therapy; decreased 102 67 10(9)/L 26 10 .01 both). conclude setting an is turnover, which reversed by therapy. Measurement reticulated may be useful evaluating both
