摘要: Edwardsiella ictaluri is a facultative intracellular bacterium that causes enteric septicemia of catfish (ESC). In this study, we aimed to develop bioluminescent E. can be monitored by noninvasive bioluminescence imaging (BLI). To accomplish this, the luxCDABE operon Photorhabdus luminescens was cloned downstream lacZ promoter in broad host range plasmid pBBR1MCS4. strain 93-146 transformed with new plasmid, pAKlux1, highly bioluminescent. pAKlux1 stably maintained without any apparent effect on growth or native stability. assess usefulness disease studies, were infected intraperitoneal injection and bath immersion, vivo bacterial dissemination observed using BLI. This study demonstrated used for real-time monitoring ESC live fish, which should enable observation pathogen attachment sites tissue predilections.
