摘要: The objective of this study was to evaluate glycerol (GLY) and GLY + dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) increase photonic detection transformed Salmonella typhimurium (S. typh-lux) through porcine skin. Skin placed on 96-well plates containing S. typh-lux, imaged (5 min) using a CCD camera, then completely immersed in PBS, GLY, DMSO, GLY+DMSO dose- time-dependent manner re-imaged min). percent emissions detected (treated or untreated skin relative no controls) used for analysis. Treatment 4 h with 50% GLY-PBS 50:30:20% GLY:DMSO:PBS increased compared skin, 100% 30:70% DMSO:PBS. the presence 20 40% DMSO (v/v PBS) alone 10% DMSO: PBS). Data indicate that are effective optical clearing agents (2–3 mm thick) when treated emitted photons. Clearing such as have potential minimize effects tissue one photon transmittance barriers (i.e., fat, muscle, visceral tissues) vivo.
