摘要: Abstract New geological mapping and observations made across Qatar favor a fault-controlled model for the Dukhan structure in western part of peninsula over previous fold-related regional erosion models. Regional stratigraphic relationships sedimentology record significant fault-localized accommodation development. This Miocene basin development may reflect far-field extension foreland coeval thrusting Oman. The subsequent change tectonics to convergence Zagros front is interpreted have led inversion present-day topography outcrop distribution.
