摘要: Monoclonal antibody MAb K1 recognizes a 40-kDa glycoprotein present on the surface of mesothelial cells, mesotheliomas, and ovarian cancers. We have used to isolate 2138-bp cDNA that encodes this antigen. The has an 1884-bp open reading frame encoding 69-kDa protein. When was transfected into COS NIH 3T3 antigen found cell could be released by treatment with phosphatidylinositol-specific phospholipase C. precursor is processed form. protein been named mesothelin because it made cells. Mesothelin may play role in cellular adhesion.
