摘要: Cognitive impairment is a major concern in temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE). While different experimental models have been used to characterize TLE-related cognitive deficits, little known on whether particular deficit more associated with the underlying brain injuries than epileptic condition per se. Here, we look at relationship between pattern of damage and spatial memory deficits two chronic TLE (lithium-pilocarpine, LIP kainic acid, KA) from rat strains (Wistar Sprague-Dawley) using Morris water maze elevated plus combination MRI imaging post-morten neuronal immunostaining. We found fundamental differences LIP- KA-treated rats regarding anxiety. LIP-treated animals both showed significant acquisition retention memory, were unable learn cued version task. In contrast, differently affected. Sprague-Dawley learned less efficiently Wistar animals, which performed similar control probe trial testing for memory. Different anxiety levels extension lesions affecting hippocampus amydgala concur observed rats. Hence, our results suggest that hippocampal-dependent not necessarily affected comorbidity related
