摘要: AISI 304 austenitic stainless steel was low-temperature liquid nitrided in a molten salt bath at 703 K for 8 hours, which produced 3-layered structure consisting of top oxide layer, an intermediate nitrogen-rich layer and bottom carbon-rich layer. The effect nitriding on its corrosion resistance investigated H2S environment. rate the untreated sample is about 3.3 times that after corrosion. Corrosion pits can be clearly observed surface sample, while remained relatively intact. Both help reduce hydrogen permeation, beneficial combating embrittlement. products mainly consisted oxides, hydroxides, sulfates. layers serve as barrier to corrosion, thus preventing substrate material. Active nitrogen reacts with H ions form NH4+, effectively prevents further acidification local area inhibits occurrence pitting dissolution metal etching hole, improving steel.
